About the movie

Christian's swinger club Nörrkoping, Sweden burns down. He meets Robin who owns an old beautiful theatre. Robin is just about to start a LGBTQ burlesque show, inspired by the Moulin Rouge in Paris, to solve his harsh economic situation. Having tenants in the empty cellar is an excellent idea and cooperation starts. But Nörrkoping is in rage against the upcoming Sex Temple: a media scandal and threats erupt. A viable business around basement sex parties and queer burlesque shows is challenging. 'The Sex Temple' is a subtle and tragic tale of taboo and homophobia. It asks whether sex and commerce make for good bedfellows, and shines a fleshlight on straight and gay sexual double standards.
