About the movie

German entertainer and musician Friedrich Liechtenstein is searching for happiness at the most unusual sites: at gas stations. He is travelling in a golden vintage Mercedes across Europe, looking for the most beautiful, extraordinary stations. Needless to say, this journey is not just about pumping gas, but about the scent of freedom, about meeting charismatic fellow artists, critical economists, futorologists and historians as well as tired truck drivers, lovey-dovey couples and lonely commuters. The entertainer's mission is to convince the world that gas stations are today's most romantic places. Originally a 10-part documentary series, 'Gasoline Deluxe' is now also a 90-minute film.
