About the movie

Hunting whales and seabirds has been a tradition in the Faroe Islands of the North Atlantic for generations and is vital to the way of life for the Faroese. After discovering that the polluted ocean has contaminated the whales, the Faroese face a threat to their hunting tradition. What once secured their survival now endangers their children and they must make a choice between health and tradition. In this film, Mike Day explores the challenges that humans must overcome in order to preserve the natural world. Awards include Emerging International Filmmaker Award at Hot Docs 2016 and Documentary Film Fund Winner from the San Francisco Film Society 2015.
